Group B Unlimited Announces the NC-01F Forged Wheels for Motor Sports Enthusiasts

Group B Unlimited is excited to unveil its latest development in performance wheels: the NC-01F. Designed as a forged evolution of our popular NC-01 cast wheel, the NC-01F brings lightweight performance, enhanced strength, and precision engineering to the track and street.

New Sizes and Fitment

The NC-01F will debut in two initial sizes for its 17-inch lineup:

• 17x9.5 +38

• 17x10 +50

Both sizes feature the popular 5x114.3 PCD, making them a versatile option for a range of vehicles. During prototype testing, the NC-01F demonstrated excellent fitment on stock Honda S2000 fenders that have been rolled and slightly pulled. The test setup also showcased the wheel’s compatibility with aftermarket big brake kits, further emphasizing its appeal for track-focused builds.

Prototype Development and Refinement

The NC-01F is currently in its prototype phase. While the initial design has already shown promise, Group B Unlimited is focused on refining the wheel’s details before final production. Our goal is to improve the design, shed unnecessary weight, and achieve optimal performance.

For reference, the prototype 17x10 size were weight in at 18 pounds, balancing strength and lightweight construction. Strength testing is ongoing, with plans to secure JWL VIA certification for added assurance of quality and safety.

Performance Features

The NC-01F introduces several advanced features aimed at maximizing performance:

• Large Brake Clearance: Perfect for vehicles equipped with aftermarket or oversized brake kits.

• Reinforced Inner Barrel: A thicker and stiffer inner barrel enhances durability and withstands rigorous track conditions.

• Pocketed Backpad: Reduces unnecessary material to minimize weight while maintaining structural integrity.

• Scalloped Spokes: A purposeful design choice that optimizes weight distribution and aesthetics.

Finishes and Availability

The initial production run of the NC-01F will be available in two premium finishes:

• Gloss White

• Matte Silver

These finishes are our most popular options and complement a wide range of vehicle styles.  We plan to release new color options after the initial launch.

A Glimpse of the Future

Photos of the prototype NC-01F provide an early look at what’s to come. While they don’t fully represent the final production version, they highlight the wheel’s excellent brake clearance and fitment capabilities. The development process ensures the NC-01F will deliver on its promise of precision engineering and performance.
